Yes the narrator takes you way to a listen you are so into that you do not want to put it down. Any additional comments? Things do not go just as they are planned which bring the man her father picked for her back into her life. It gets a little complicate as the author takes you back in time where life was simpler, where you work hard for the land and your home.
Kathryn had an easy life at home never having to work or help around the house. With her father pushing her on a man she doesn't even like she said enough is enough. When she signs up for the mail-order bride her father disinherits her as she makes her way to her new life.

I know when I see this narrators name it is going to be a wonderful treat and can't wait to turn on my speakers to be taken away to another place and time. Asmundson voice is a pleasure to listen to with her even but strong tones. Her male and female voices are wonderful. How she can remember from one book to the next just which character has what voice I will never know.
If you haven't listen to her narration you are missing a treat. I recommend you take time to listen to her you won't be sorry. Fyffe gives you another well written story with wonderful character which you can relate to. She puts feeling into her stories as she brings her characters to life leaving you with a smile.
She gives you a wonderful clean read with just the right about of passion leaving you no doubt just what each character is feeling. Even my husband got into this audio, when I work around the home I listen to it on my speakers. When he comes in I move to ear plugs, I thought he was walking through the house when he did not I went to cut it off. He said you don't have to do that it doesn't bother me. He sat and listened with me for a little while. The next day he asked me how my book ended when I said I had not finished it yet that it was about 6 hours long he was disappointed.
Tonight when I finished it I had to give him the run down. Fyffe congratulations you might have turn my husband into a romance read! This author is always one that feels me with pleasure and makes me smile even gives me a few chuckles. Her audios are ones I never want to shut off and her book I never want to put down.
I cannot wait for the next one to come out. If you are looking for a wonderful written story with delightful characters I highly recommend you pick up one of her books. You will find wonderful clean fun with a little heart bending to make it interesting and a story that will reach your soul. Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why? I would recommend this audiobook to anyone who has been reading or listening to the Mail Order Brides series. In this story there are quite a few scenes centered around characters from previous 'Brides' stories, although it could be a stand-alone.
What did you like best about this story? She has angered her father by refusing to marry the man he insists that she marry, causing her father to disown her. What a sad situation! Her father places all his efforts on his younger daughter, Poppy. Although her mother loves her, she is essentially powerless to change the situation between her husband and his eldest daughter.
During her travels west, Kathryn is injured and loses her memory. Fortunately there is a doctor at the stop where she is injured, and he insists on accompanying her to her destination in YKnot, Montana, where she is to join Tobit Preece, the man she has agreed to marry.
Although Tobit takes the advice of the preacher and decides to postpone the wedding until Kathryn can regain her memory, he does take her to his home to stay. This is an acceptable situation since his grandfather lives there as well. Trouble begins when Tobit's grandfather begins to suspect Kathryn's motives as well as her memory loss, and says things to her and about her that are designed to drive Kathryn away from Tobit and the farm.
Tobit has had a sad childhood, losing his father and being abandoned, along with his mother, by his stepfather. When he comes to live with his grandfather, and begins to put the debacle of his unsuccessful bid for Heather who married Hayden in a previous Brides story , he is not so sure that writing for a mail order bride is the best thing.
But his grandfather wants to hold a great-grandchild so Tobit proceeds. Unable to marry Kathryn right away due to her injury, he takes her to stay at his farm, where she does her best to help out with the chores. Although she's never done any type of household work or gardening, she finds satisfaction in the work and in doing her fair share.
Feelings begin to grow between Kathryn and Tobit, and both find themselves wishing her memory would return so that they could marry. I liked the characters of both Kathryn and Tobit. Tobit's kind, easy-going, and patient.
More titles to consider
Kathryn's true character shines through even though she has no memory of her life before arriving in YKnot. I liked how she found satisfaction in her work, trying new things she'd never done before. She often questioned within herself whether or not things could be true, which was a good thing when Oscar the man her father wanted to marry showed up to persuade her to come back east with him.
It was interesting to see the real Kathryn emerge as the forgotten trappings of eastern society no longer were an issue. How does this one compare? I have listened to Lara Asmundson narrate the other 'Brides' books, and her performance was consistent. Although she read's Lina's Italian accent much better than Kathryn's New England accent, she was still animated and her narration flowed well.
